Mission Centers of Houston
EIN: 74-1744007 · Houston, TX
Our Story
Mission Centers of Houston began in the 1940s as an outreach ministry for impoverished families in the Near Northside. Originally known as the Mexican Goodwill Center, it provided daycare and food assistance. In 1962, the Union Baptist Association took over, expanding services to meet the growing needs of the community. Today, with multiple centers and programs, the organization continues to combat poverty and homelessness, recently launching The Compassion Center to further its mission.
Impact
Each year, Mission Centers of Houston provides food assistance to over 30,000 individuals, empowering children, adults, and seniors alike. Their integrated approach addresses both physical and spiritual needs, transforming lives in Houston’s inner city for nearly 60 years.
