In December 2014, the founder of Misfit Hounds met an old, skinny Bluetick hound named Harriet at a local shelter. After rescuing Harriet, who had been abandoned by another rescue, the founder decided to start Misfit Hounds to provide a safe haven for throwaway hounds at risk of euthanasia. This organization focuses on rehabilitating these dogs and educating the public about the potential of breeds like Coonhounds, Foxhounds, Bloodhounds, and Beagles.
Misfit Hounds rescues hounds from kill shelters, rehabilitates them, and prepares them for adoption, providing a safe haven for dogs that would otherwise face euthanasia.
