About Cleveland MOTTEP

The Minority Organ and Tissue Transplant Education Program of Cleveland, known as Cleveland MOTTEP, was established in 1995 as a local affiliate of the National MOTTEP. Founded by Dr. Clive Callender, a Howard University transplant surgeon, this community-based organization focuses on educating and raising awareness about organ and tissue donation within the Greater Cleveland minority population. By utilizing culturally sensitive approaches and ethnically similar messengers, Cleveland MOTTEP dispels myths and misconceptions that hinder participation in life-saving procedures.

Impact

With a mission to increase the number of registered organ, eye, and tissue donors, Cleveland MOTTEP promotes health education and wellness in the community.
