Our Story

The Millbrae Historical Society was founded in 1970 by passionate residents dedicated to preserving local history. The Society emerged in response to the threatened demolition of significant historical buildings, including the 1907 Southern Pacific Depot. In 1985, the Society established the Millbrae History Museum by relocating and restoring the 1895 Spring Valley Water Company manager's house, alongside operating the Millbrae Train Museum and the Carriage House Museum, which showcase a variety of historical artifacts.

Impact

Through its museums and historical markers, the Millbrae Historical Society has successfully preserved and showcased the history of Millbrae, engaging the community in local heritage and education.
