About Military Veterans in Journalism

Military Veterans in Journalism (MVJ) is dedicated to increasing the representation of military veterans in American newsrooms. Founded to address the underrepresentation of veterans in journalism, MVJ builds a community for veterans, supports their career growth, and advocates for diversity in newsrooms.

Impact of MVJ

Since its inception in 2019, MVJ has secured over 26 news fellowships and internships for veterans, connected more than 200 mentees with experienced mentors, and organized over 70 career-enhancing events. With over 1,000 members, MVJ significantly impacts both the veteran community and the journalism industry.
