Our Story
The Midwest Institute of Scandinavian Culture, Inc. was founded on July 6, 1960, originally as The Wisconsin Institute of Scandinavian Culture. This organization has grown from a small group of 10 members to a peak membership of 450, dedicated to fostering a better understanding and appreciation of Scandinavian and Finnish culture among all people. Through various cultural events and workshops, including the Wahlstrom Nordic Workshop and Syttende Mai celebrations, the organization aims to establish a Nordic Center for cultural exchange and education.
