Midwest Immigration Bond Fund
EIN: 87-1712287 · Chicago, IL
Our Story
The Midwest Immigration Bond Fund was established in 2020 through a coalition of dedicated organizers and attorneys in the Chicago area. This initiative began as a response to the urgent need for a revolving fund to assist individuals in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Kentucky who are unable to afford immigration bonds. Officially incorporated as a nonprofit in July 2021, MIBF operates with an all-volunteer board committed to advocating for the rights of those in ICE custody.
Our Impact
By facilitating the payment of immigration bonds, the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund helps free individuals from ICE detention, allowing them to reunite with their families and communities. This effort not only provides immediate relief but also fosters a broader movement advocating for the abolition of immigration detention and surveillance.
