Our Story

Midwest Food Connection (MFC) began in the Twin Cities in 1993, initiated by two natural food co-ops. In 1997, educators founded MFC to provide natural foods education in schools. Over the years, MFC has expanded its programming to engage students in grades K-8 through hands-on activities related to food, cooking, and gardening, inspiring healthy eating and environmental stewardship.

Impact

MFC reaches approximately 4,000 children annually at 40 schools in the Twin Cities, providing food education that encourages healthy eating, environmental awareness, and community engagement.

Why Donate?

Donations to MFC support educational programs that empower children to make healthy food choices, understand food systems, and develop life skills related to cooking and gardening, ultimately fostering a healthier community.
