Midtown Detroit, Inc. (MDI) emerged from a merger of the University Cultural Center Association and the New Center Council, both established in the 1970s. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to fostering community and economic development in the Midtown and New Center areas of Detroit. By enhancing cultural and social activities, MDI supports local small businesses and advocates for neighborhood needs.
