The Midland Community Development Corporation (MCDC) was established to foster economic growth and community revitalization in Midland's economically distressed neighborhoods. Founded in January 2000 by members of the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, MCDC has been instrumental in launching initiatives that alleviate unemployment and blight. One of its hallmark projects, the Old Pueblo Park Housing Development, successfully created 25 homes and generated $1.5 million in new taxable real estate.

Through its innovative housing development and homebuyer assistance programs, MCDC has played a pivotal role in revitalizing low-income areas in Midland. The organization has been a catalyst for the city’s new 'Target Area Strategies' for redevelopment.
