About Middle Tyger Community Center
The Middle Tyger Community Center (MTCC) was born from a community-driven initiative aimed at addressing the needs of children during the holiday season. However, it quickly became clear that the challenges faced by families in rural Spartanburg County extended far beyond a single time of year. In 1997, with the support of The Mary Black Foundation, a vision was crafted to create a comprehensive family resource center. After extensive planning and renovations, MTCC opened its doors in August 1998, transforming a former elementary school into a vibrant hub for community support.
Impact of MTCC
MTCC serves as a beacon of hope, bringing together resources and individuals to uplift families in Spartanburg. The center has become a model for holistic, integrated family support services.
