Middle School of the Arts Foundation

Our Story

The Middle School of the Arts Foundation was established in 1999 by a dedicated group of parents, community leaders, and arts advocates. This foundation was created to support Bak Middle School of the Arts in its mission to maximize opportunities for each student to reach their fullest artistic and academic potential. Initially focused on building an auditorium, the foundation has since shifted its focus to supplementing arts education funding due to diminished state support.

Impact

Since its inception, the MSOA Foundation has provided over $2.5 million to enhance the arts programs and curriculum at Bak. This funding enables students to receive specialized instruction and opportunities to work with local and national arts professionals, leading to numerous awards and invitations to perform at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Chicago Symphony.
