About Mid-Texas Symphony
The Mid-Texas Symphony, founded in 1978 by Professor Anita Windecker, has been a beacon of classical music in the rural communities of Seguin and New Braunfels. This non-profit organization was established to bring high-quality symphonic performances to the region, enriching the cultural landscape and fostering a love for music among residents. With support from Texas Lutheran University and the local community, MTS has grown to become the only professional orchestra in South Central Texas, performing masterpieces by renowned composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach.
Impact of Music Education
Over the years, MTS has introduced more than 100,000 students to the transformative power of live symphonic music through its educational programs. Each season, the Symphony presents free children’s concerts to over 4,000 students, ensuring that the joy of classical music is accessible to the next generation.
