Our Story

Founded in 1977, Mid-Step Services began with a vision to provide comprehensive support for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Starting with just six individuals and four dedicated staff members in Cherokee, Iowa, the organization has expanded to manage over 20 residential and vocational programs across the state.
