Founded in 1942 by a dedicated group of Lions Club members in Memphis, Mid-South Lions Sight and Hearing Service has been committed to helping those in need of sight and hearing assistance. With the support of local ophthalmologists and hospitals, this organization has grown to serve the states of Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. The main sight clinic is located at the Hamilton Eye Institute in Memphis, while the hearing clinic is situated at Methodist Hospital Central.

Over the years, Mid-South Lions has established satellite clinics in various locations, including Rogers, Hot Springs, and Mountain Home in Arkansas, as well as Rolla, Jackson, Columbus, and Ocean Springs in Mississippi. Collaborating with medical professionals who generously donate their services, the organization is able to provide approximately five dollars in service for every dollar spent on patient care.
