Our Story

The Mid-Atlantic Burn Camp was founded in 1992 by dedicated physical therapists Linda C. French and E. Tonas Kalil. Inspired by a presentation on the Denver Children’s Hospital’s burn camp, they established a local camp for young burn survivors. From serving just 19 campers in its inaugural year, MABC has evolved into a nationally and internationally recognized resource, offering therapeutic support to young burn survivors and their families through various enriching programs.

Impact

MABC has significantly expanded its outreach to burn units across the Mid-Atlantic region, providing essential programs to numerous young burn survivors and their families. These initiatives help participants adjust to their injuries and foster self-esteem through engaging camp activities.
