Our Story

Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center was founded in 2001 in memory of Michelle Watson, who bravely battled Stage IV breast cancer at just 23 years old. Frustrated by the lack of local resources during her treatment, Michelle envisioned a supportive community resource center. After her passing, her family and friends established Michelle’s Place to fulfill her dream of providing comfort and support to others facing cancer, ensuring that no one has to face this journey alone.

Impact

Last year, Michelle’s Place served over 3,200 individuals, offering free resources and support to families and individuals impacted by cancer. Services include counseling, support groups, wellness classes, and educational resources.
