Empowering Change Through Advocacy
The Michael Thompson Clemency Project was founded by Michael Thompson, who spent over 25 years as Michigan's longest-serving non-violent offender. After receiving a commutation from Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Michael dedicated his life to fighting against the injustices of mass incarceration and sharing the stories of those wrongfully imprisoned.
Making an Impact
MTCP has successfully facilitated clemency filings and engaged with numerous incarcerated individuals and their families, addressing the systemic injustices they face. The organization has garnered support from state officials, including the Governor's Office, committed to reviewing cases with care.
