Micah’s Place: A Safe Haven for Survivors
Founded in 1999 by a group of concerned citizens, Micah’s Place was established to provide a safe refuge for survivors of domestic violence. Before its inception, victims often had to leave the county to find shelter, facing numerous barriers including lack of transportation. Officially incorporated in 2000 and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2001, Micah’s Place opened its doors to a 16-bed emergency shelter in 2003, becoming a certified center by the Department of Children and Families in 2004.
Impacting Lives Every Day
Micah’s Place is dedicated to offering safety and support to individuals affected by domestic violence. The organization has expanded its services to include a 24-hour hotline, outreach programs, and community training, ensuring that survivors receive the help they need.
Why Your Donation Matters
Your generous contributions directly support survivors in shelter and outreach programs. The average stay for a family at the emergency shelter is six weeks, and without community donations, these vital services would not be possible.
