Our Story

The Miami Workers Center, founded in 1999 in Liberty City, is dedicated to empowering low-income Black and Brown women and femmes. Initially focused on welfare reform, the organization has expanded its mission to tackle housing issues and advocate for tenant rights, particularly through initiatives like the Femme Agenda.

Impact

With successful campaigns, the Miami Workers Center has secured $200 million in affordable housing funds and prevented the demolition of public housing complexes. The organization fosters leadership development and grassroots organizing, particularly in domestic work and community activism.
