Our Story
Founded in 1984 by Aldo Berti, RowHouse has been a cornerstone of Miami's rowing community. Initially, all local clubs were situated on the Blue Lagoon, benefiting from strong city and county support. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, RowHouse hosted the renowned "Devil’s Half-Mile" Regatta, attracting teams nationwide. Pioneering adaptive rowing, RowHouse established a scholarship program for local youth unable to afford participation. Under Coach Franky Viacava's leadership since 2017, RowHouse transformed into a nonprofit, offering Novice, Elite Junior, Masters, Adaptive, and US National team programs. Today, RowHouse is dedicated to training the next generation of elite rowers while welcoming novices eager to learn the sport.
