Our Story

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council was established in 1977 by a dedicated group of citizens committed to addressing racial and economic segregation in housing. With a mission to promote fair housing throughout Wisconsin, MMFHC combats illegal housing discrimination and fosters integrated communities. The organization has expanded its reach with satellite offices in Greater Madison and Northeast Wisconsin, ensuring that fair housing services are accessible to all.

Impact

MMFHC has a proven track record, with clients achieving remarkable success in legal remedies against discrimination. Out of approximately 650 lawsuits filed, the organization has prevailed in all but 8 cases, showcasing its effectiveness in advocating for fair housing rights. Recognized nationally, MMFHC has received multiple awards for its initiatives.
