Our Story
In response to the Milwaukee foreclosure crisis, a collaborative task force was formed in early 2007, bringing together Marquette University Law School, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Urban Economic Development Association. By 2008, the Milwaukee Foreclosure Partnership Initiative was launched to help homeowners retain their homes and protect their credit. Mediate Wisconsin emerged in March 2012 to manage the foreclosure mediation program, having facilitated over 1,500 mediations by that time. Since then, the organization has expanded its services across Wisconsin, addressing the needs of both homeowners and tenants.
