Founded in 1971 by Reverend Al Gesler and dedicated volunteers from local Lutheran congregations, Meals On Wheels Erie began its mission to serve the East Erie communities. Initially focused on delivering meals to elderly and frail residents, the organization has grown significantly since becoming an independent agency in 1976. Today, it continues to thrive thanks to the unwavering support of volunteers who are the backbone of this vital service.
