Metro Catholic Outreach is a collaborative initiative of 11 Catholic parishes in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This outreach program is dedicated to providing food assistance, community referrals, and financial support for housing and utilities to those in need. Guided by the principles of Catholic Social Teachings, MCO aims to deliver consistent and effective social justice services to the community.
Each month, MCO distributes an average of 15,015 pounds of food to 489 families, along with 258 homeless/snack bags. This commitment addresses food insecurity and supports vulnerable populations in the Cedar Rapids area.
