Our Story

Established in 1899, Methodist Family Health began as the Arkansas Methodist Orphanage, created by compassionate Methodists dedicated to caring for orphaned and dependent children. Over the years, as societal needs evolved, so did the organization. Renamed Methodist Children’s Home, it transformed into a comprehensive residential treatment system, expanding its services to include group homes across Arkansas. In 2001, the organization founded Methodist Behavioral Hospital, Inc., and in 2003, both entities united to form Methodist Family Health, which now encompasses a full continuum of care, including the Methodist Children’s Home, Methodist Behavioral Hospital, Methodist Counseling Clinics, and Arkansas CARES.
