Our Story
The Metamora Land Preservation Alliance was established in 2005 to combat the Levy Company’s attempts to mine the Boy Scout Ranch. With the support of hundreds of local citizens and businesses, the Alliance successfully preserved the town's way of life from the devastating impacts of large-scale surface mining.
Our Impact
Through community mobilization and strategic legal action, the Alliance has effectively halted the Levy Company’s industrialization efforts on two occasions, showcasing the power of collective action.
