Our Story
Founded in 1996, the Merrill Arts Center (MAC) emerged from a passionate group of citizens advocating for the arts in Woodbury, Minnesota. Initially serving as a matchmaking and advocacy group, MAC transformed after receiving a generous bequest from Dorothy K. Merrill, enabling the construction of the Dorothy K. Merrill Fine Arts Center. Over the years, MAC has expanded its programming, acquired various arts organizations, and launched educational initiatives, all while navigating financial challenges. Today, MAC stands as a vibrant arts hub in the East Metro area, dedicated to community engagement and artistic excellence.
