Our Story
Founded in 1963 by Claire Hayden Burson, Blue Ridge Health began as The Migrant Health Center, dedicated to eliminating health disparities for migrant farmworkers in Western North Carolina. Over the years, it has evolved to serve a diverse patient population, expanding its services to include pediatrics, school-based health centers, and integrated behavioral health services.

In 2023, Blue Ridge Health served over 30% uninsured patients, provided care for 3,077 agricultural workers, and assisted 1,017 unsheltered patients, showcasing its commitment to accessible healthcare.
