Founded in 1894 by the Sisters of Mercy, MercyFirst is a dedicated not-for-profit human and social service agency. It serves children and families in need across New York City and Long Island, focusing on community-based prevention and family foster care services, group homes, and short-term residential services for unaccompanied migrant children.

In the past year, MercyFirst has made a significant impact by helping 719 at-risk children remain safely at home, providing care for 170 children with serious medical and mental health needs, and facilitating the healing and reunification of 304 foster care children with their families.
