Our Story

Founded in 1983 by the Sisters of Mercy of Connecticut, Mercy Housing and Shelter Corporation began with a mission to address homelessness through St. Elizabeth House and The Friendship Center. Over the years, it has expanded to nine programs across six sites, focusing on helping individuals transition from homelessness to permanent housing.
