Our Story
In 1988, Father Jerome T. Karcher encountered a young man living in an abandoned garage, igniting a passion to address homelessness. This pivotal moment led to the establishment of Mercy House Living Centers. Over the past thirty years, Mercy House has evolved from a single dream into a vital resource, serving over 100,000 homeless individuals across six counties in California and Arizona. The organization provides dignified housing and comprehensive supportive services to diverse populations, including families, veterans, and individuals overcoming addiction.
Impact
Every year, Mercy House serves over 7,000 men, women, and children through a complete system of care tailored to meet the unique needs of homeless and at-risk populations. With generous support, the organization helps hundreds transition to affordable housing, while preventing many more from experiencing homelessness.
