Mental Health Minnesota, founded in 1939 as the Minnesota Mental Hygiene Society, stands as the state’s first mental health advocacy and education organization. Over the decades, it has evolved to focus on improving mental health conditions, advocating for legislative changes, and providing essential education and resources. With a remarkable growth from 170 members to 57,000 by 1965, the organization has played a pivotal role in establishing community mental health centers and advocating for patients' rights.

Impact

With over 98,000 calls, texts, and online chats for help and peer support, Mental Health Minnesota has made a significant impact across 87 counties. The organization has also conducted over 127,000 online mental health screenings, providing vital resources and support to those in need.
