Our Story
Established in 1926, the Menorah Heritage Foundation emerged from a vision by Jewish leaders to provide quality health care for the Jewish poor and the broader community. The foundation's roots trace back to the Jewish Memorial Hospital Association, which successfully raised a million dollars to create Menorah Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dedicated on August 30, 1931, Menorah Hospital became a beacon of health care excellence, serving the community with a Kosher kitchen and compassionate care. Guided by the Jewish tradition of tikkun olam, the foundation continues to support initiatives that feed the hungry, heal the sick, and comfort the bereaved.
