Empowerment of Abuse Survivors
Sustainability Through Recycling Auto Parts
Community Support and Healing

Our Story

Mend on the Move was founded by Joanne Ewald, who transformed her own pain into purpose. After experiencing childhood abuse and embarking on a healing journey, Joanne established this nonprofit in 2015 to support women who feel they have little value. By creating a community of survivors, Mend on the Move encourages women to reclaim their worth through creativity and connection.

Our Impact

Through innovative jewelry making using salvaged auto parts and car seat leather, Mend on the Move empowers women survivors of abuse. This initiative not only provides them with a source of income during recovery but also contributes to reducing the 3 million tons of non-recyclable auto parts that end up in landfills each year in the U.S.
