Founded in 1945 by Jimmy Stroud and T. Walker Lewis, Memphis Union Mission addresses the urgent needs of the homeless in Memphis. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to include emergency shelter, recovery programs, and family support, adapting to the evolving needs of the community.

Memphis Union Mission shelters an average of 304 individuals daily, providing over 142,259 nights of shelter and serving 376,088 meals. The organization plays a vital role in the community, especially during extreme weather conditions, and is integral to the local emergency preparedness plan.
