Memorial Drive Esplanade Association

Our Story

The Memorial Drive Esplanade Association, established in the early 1980s by local residents, is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the Memorial Drive esplanade in Houston, Texas. This initiative began in response to the expansion of Memorial Drive, aiming to preserve the lush greenery of the area. For nearly 30 years, the Association has collaborated with the City of Houston to beautify the esplanade through community involvement and annual fundraising efforts.

Impact

Currently, the Association is spearheading a restoration project to address damage caused by a storm water drainage system completed in 2018. This project is vital for restoring the trees and irrigation system, enhancing the visual appeal of the neighborhood and connecting it to Memorial Park.
