Founded in 1965 by Paul and Mildred Krentel, Melmark began as a loving home for children with developmental disabilities, inspired by their daughter Melissa, who was born with Down syndrome. Over the decades, Melmark has grown into a multi-state organization, expanding its services to meet the needs of children and adults with autism and other disabilities.
