Our Story
The Medina Lake Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1961 by a group of 42 dedicated citizens who recognized the need for a volunteer fire service. With the purchase of the first fire truck in 1962, MLVFD has been a cornerstone of safety in the Medina Lake area. Over the decades, the department has expanded its capabilities, including the construction of a larger fire station in the 1980s to meet growing community needs.
