The Media Fire & Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 was established in 1891 by dedicated citizens who recognized the urgent need for organized fire response in their community. Through fundraising fairs and personal contributions, they laid the foundation for a robust fire service. Over the years, the company has evolved, acquiring advanced equipment including a steam engine, hose cart, and ambulance division, now operating two engines, a truck company, a rescue unit, and two ambulances with over 35 active members.
