Our Story

In May of 1972, a dedicated group of citizens in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, came together to address a pressing need in their community: providing meals for individuals unable to prepare food for themselves due to age, illness, or other physical constraints. With no existing nutrition centers, they formed Meals on Wheels of Palmerton, Inc., establishing a mission to deliver hot, nutritious meals directly to those in need. Meals are prepared in the kitchen of Palmerton Hospital and delivered by compassionate volunteers who ensure that each meal arrives warm and ready to eat, rain or shine, even on holidays.
