Our Story
In 1982, Sister Miriam Therese Peppin recognized the urgent need for a home-delivered meal service for elderly individuals in New Rochelle who were unable to shop or cook for themselves. With the support of a dedicated group of local volunteers, Meals-on-Wheels of New Rochelle was established in 1983. The program began delivering hot meals in January 1984, serving 20 to 25 individuals daily. Over the years, the service expanded to include weekend deliveries and light supper options, ensuring that our elderly neighbors receive nutritious meals every day of the year.
