Our Story

Meals on Wheels originated in London during World War II, providing essential meals to the elderly affected by the blitz. This grassroots movement spread globally, with the first U.S. program launching in Philadelphia in 1954. In Lancaster, the journey began on April 24, 1967, initiated by the Pilot Club of Lancaster and supported by local organizations. Today, Meals on Wheels delivers hot and cold meals to those unable to cook for themselves due to age, illness, or disability.
