Providing Cardiac Screenings

Our Story

The MCORE Foundation was established in 2008 by Dr. Kenneth Berkovitz and Brett Douglas after experiencing the devastating loss of a family member due to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Originally founded as mCORE LLC, the organization aimed to provide mobile cardiac risk assessments for student athletes in Ohio. In 2014, it transitioned to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, broadening its mission to ensure that all youth have access to essential cardiac screenings, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Impact

Since its inception, the MCORE Foundation has screened over 84,125 youth, successfully identifying undetected heart conditions in 4,200 individuals that could lead to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The foundation is dedicated to educating communities and providing access to life-saving cardiac screenings.
