Our Story
Founded in 1873, McDonogh School began as a haven for 21 impoverished boys from Baltimore City. Nestled on an expansive 835-acre campus, the school evolved from a military boarding institution into a modern, coeducational day school. Over the years, significant milestones have marked its journey, including the admission of the first pay students in 1922 and the integration of female students in 1975. Today, McDonogh serves students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, emphasizing character development, diversity, and academic excellence through its LifeReady Academic Plan.
