Our Story

From humble beginnings as an after-school drama program in 1974, Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) has blossomed into one of Hawaii’s largest nonprofit performing arts organizations. Serving the Maui community, MAPA has provided acclaimed productions, classes, and camps to over one million participants across three generations. In 2016, MAPA embarked on an ambitious project to create a comprehensive performing arts campus in Wailuku, featuring the Naylor Family Theatre and state-of-the-art facilities. Construction is set to complete in spring 2025.

Impact

MAPA’s annual operating budget relies on grants and donor contributions, ensuring the organization can continue to enrich lives and foster community through the performing arts.
