Our Story
Established in 1993, the Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod is a collaborative effort between trained community volunteers and the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension staff. This initiative provides unbiased horticultural information to the residents of Barnstable County. The Master Gardener program, which began in 1972 in Washington State, has since spread across all 50 states, empowering communities with gardening knowledge. In 1990, Roberta Clark and a dedicated group of volunteers launched Cape Cod’s first Master Gardener Class, ensuring that local residents have access to expert horticultural advice and support.
