Massachusetts Avenue Project
EIN: 16-1585356 · Buffalo, NY
Our Story
Founded in 1992 by dedicated neighborhood residents on Buffalo's West Side, the Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) has been a beacon of hope and opportunity. Incorporated in 2000, MAP launched the Growing Green Program in 2003 to tackle pressing issues such as land vacancy, youth unemployment, and food security. Over the years, this initiative has created over 650 jobs for local teenagers, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose.
Impact
MAP has directly trained hundreds of low-income youth in sustainable urban agriculture and food systems development. With a remarkable 95% of participants graduating high school and enrolling in college, the program not only empowers youth but also educates thousands of community members about the benefits of localizing our food system.
Why Donate?
Your generous contributions ensure that teens have a safe space to explore their passions, provide fresh food to underserved Buffalo communities through the Mobile Market, and offer vital nutrition and cooking classes.
