Founded by Mordechai Mandelbaum and Alexander Rapaport, the organization opened its doors on April 3, 2005, as Brooklyn’s first kosher soup kitchen. Today, Masbia operates three locations and distributes over 2 million meals annually. The organization has expanded its services to include the Weekend Take-Home Package program, providing over 1,000 food packages each week.
