Our Story

Founded in 1903 by the Evangelical Association, Western Home Communities began as a home for aged church members. With a generous offer from Henry Pfeiffer, Jr. and Annie Merner in 1911, the organization established The Western Old People’s Home. Over the years, it has evolved into an independent nonprofit, expanding its services and facilities to meet the needs of the elderly community.

Impact

With a second campus in Cedar Falls, spanning 150 acres, Western Home Communities offers a variety of living options, including independent living, assisted living, and specialized memory support. For over a century, it has adapted to the changing needs of seniors, ensuring they receive the care they deserve.
